The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation has inaugurated a Technical Committee for the Development of the Federal Civil Service Welfare Policy to address the challenge of uncoordinated approach to management of welfare of employees across the Civil Service. The Policy is expected to provide a framework that would ensure that all issues of welfare and well-be-ing of Federal Government employees are fully developed and institutionalised in the Federal Civil Service.

In compliance with the Pension Reform Act 2004 Section 9(3), the Federal Government flagged off the Group Life Assurance (GLA) Cover for its Employees in 2008, with retroactive effect from 1st July, 2004 when the Pensions Reforms Act was signed into Law, by appointing Insurance Companies and Brokers to provide Cover for its workers from 1st January to 31st December, 2008.
