The Scope of the R&RS covers eleven (11) Awards and two (2) Recognitions with The Public Service Excellence Award, and Bravety Awards having four (4) and six (6) sub-Awards respectively. The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation is set to institutionalize a robust Rewards and Recognition System (R&RS) in the Federal Civil Service to boost performance. This is in recognition of the fact that as the custodian of the Federal Government bureaucracy, the Federal Civil Service remains a key factor with influence and impact on all dimensions of government including performance improvement and delivery of services needed to achieve national development goals and good governance.
The Ethics and Professionalism Award, intended to be on monthly basis, recognizes a Civil Servant or Unit or Department that has exemplified the highest standards of professionalism and work ethic in course of their career or over a considerable period. This Award is for an officer who has made the greatest impact through Mentorship, on the life and development of a Mentee in achieving a specific personal or professional goal by providing training and guidance to one or more mentees in the Unit, Department or Ministry.
