BASELINE SURVEY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (PWDs) IN THE FEDERAL CIVIL SERVICE

By admin on April 1, 2019

The launch of the Baseline Survey of Persons with Disabilities in the Federal Civil Service was launched on 3rd December, 2018 and commissioned by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita, FCA, NPoM. The Survey is expected to provide disaggregated data of employees with disabilities in the Federal Civil Service. This was designed to commemorate the 2018 International Day of Persons With Disabilities, with the theme “Empowering Persons with Disabilities and ensuring their Inclusiveness and Equality”.

Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita said the conduct is part of the commitment of the Federal Government to creating more opportunities for PWDs to get into work and provide full range of services for a conducive work environment. “The ultimate goal is the development of a comprehensive policy to address the challenges of Persons With Disabilities” she said. The Head of the Civil Service appealed to Development Partners, members of the International Community, and Corporate Organizations to leverage and support the efforts of the Federal Government.
